About Our Organization
American Dream Japanese Network (JaNet) was originally created in 2001 following the 9/11 attacks to cheer up and unite the Japanese community, which lost many of its prominent members working in the World Trade Center. In 2002, we began hosting “Igyoshu Kouryuukai (Name Card Exchange Party for Different Professions)” to promote communications between people working in different fields of profession. As of December 2010, we’ve hosted 90 parties. We have been operating as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) since 2007, and last year, we were approved under section 501(C)(3) of Internal Revenue Code to be exempted from Federal Income Tax.
As a newly-approved tax-exempt organization with over 5,500 members, we have expanded our activities to include supporting of cultural exchanges between Japanese and American Communities in New York Metropolitan area.
