THE WHITE VANS PROJECT EXHIBITION IN NEW YORK.
“Were very proud to announce that from January 2nd-4th 2013,The White Vans Project will be holding an exhibition in New York for the very first time.”
The White Vans Project (WVP) is a project in which young college students from Tokyo use their artistic skills and inspiration to change VANS slip-on shoes into art. There are many artists such as Hikaru Cho and E-WAX who has already been picked up globally by the media. There will be portraits of the artists and also video work at the exhibition.
In the future, we’re planning on holding an exhibition and workshops in Japan as well. There will be more information of the WVP on the WVP Facebook page and on Twitter.
THE WHITE VANS PROJECT（WVP）とは東京５美術大学の学生を中心とした２０代前半の新進気鋭なアーティストがVANSのスリッポンシューズにペイントを施したアート作品をつかって、イベントや作品のアーカイブ化など行っている日本のプロジェクトである。アーティストのポートレートや、VANSをテーマにした映像作品も同時に公開予定。Facebookやtwitterというソーシャルネットワーキングサービスなど、ネットを中心に宣伝を行っているのが特徴。今後も日本での展示会やワークショップも企画している。
