“Go Beyond the View”

What we can see in front of us right now is not everything.

But is it possible to go beyond the boundaries of our own perspective and see a different world?

On the evening of April 27, the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce held the “Go Beyond the View” happy hour networking event at One World Observatory.

More than 50 professionals from New York City gathered at the Main Observatory on the 100th floor, which opens out to panoramic views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey.

But, nonetheless, this seemingly expansive view is still limited to just one location.

That is precisely why we must “go beyond the view.”

As each of us, with our own unique background, however “limited” it may be, converse with one another and share our own experiences, we can escape from our limited point of view and bias. As we continuously communicate with others and consider their perspective, we can escape from the tiny world of “me” and enter into a world of diversity.
